Baby Clinic: Health Visitors hold drop in Child Health Clinics at Amelia Nutt Clinic on Wednesdays at 1.30pm-3.30pm , and also at Crossways Tabernacle on Tuesdays at 1.30-3.30pm
Contraception - Family Planning: Doctors are keen to give contraceptive advice. All consultations are confidential, regardless of age. If you need emergency contraception telephone at 8.30am for an appointment that day.
Dietician: A doctor may refer you to a dietician if your weight is endangering your health.
District Nurses: If your illness stops you from attending the surgery for nursing care, the District Nurses may visit you at home. A Health Visitor for older people is also part of this team.
Drug and Alcohol Services: If you feel you have problems about drink or drugs your doctor may be able to refer you on to specialist services. The practice follows the South Bristol Methodone protocol where all patients receiving methodone on prescription must see a Drugs Liaison Worker. All consultations are confidential.
Test Results: These can be given out over the phone after 2.30pm but only to the person who had the test.
Health Visitors: There are Health Visitors and Play development Workers in the Health Visitors Team. They aim to help you with child development and health issues. You can contact them at Amelia Nutt Clinic on 0117 987 8301 or 8302.
Heart Disease: You will be invited to the surgery by a Practice Nurse so they can monitor your illness and offer advice and support.
Illness Clinics: Nurse clinics are held regularly to monitor your illness, and offer advice and support
Immunisations: It is important to keep up to date with your immunisations to avoid serious illnesses. You can go to the treatment room or come to one of these clinics:
Maternity: When you are pregnant you will receive regular care from your usual doctor and midwife before and after your baby is born.
Medical Students: Medical students are sometimes attached to the practice. You will always be asked if you are happy for the student to sit in with your doctor. We are an approved training practice and you may be offered an appointment with a GP Registrar. They are fully qualified doctors undertaking a year in General Practice.
Minor Surgery: The doctors are able to inject joints, freeze warts and remove some skin lumps.
Physiotherapy: A doctor may refer you to see a physiotherapist. They offer advice and treat problems with muscles or joints e.g. after an injury.
Podiatry (foot care): If you have a problem with your foot care, or an illness (e.g. diabetes) that can affect your feet, please speak to your doctor.
Repeat Prescriptions: Please put your repeat prescription slips in the Box provided in Reception or post them to the Surgery. Prescriptions will be ready in 48 hours. We can send your prescription to a local chemist. We do not take prescriptions by telephone to avoid mistakes being made.
Research: Your notes may be used in research, but all personal details are removed.
Smoking: We run nurse clinics who can give nicotine replacement to help you give up smoking.
Speech Therapy: If you are concerned about your child's speech or language, your doctor or health visitor can refer you to a Speech Therapist.
Treatment Room: A team of nurses provide a range of services for minor injuries, immunisations, blood tests, health checks, blood pressure testing, cervical smears, ear syringing and travel clinics. They run a range of health clinics and offer professional advice.
